Biography

Abigail is an experienced social worker who, for over a decade, created, managed, and implemented innovative programs to serve people experiencing homelessness. After earning her MSW from the University of Iowa in 2020, she worked as a substance abuse counselor for ADDS in Burlington. Abigail’s research interests include how food security, poverty, and housing status impact health and health disparities. She lives in Mt. Pleasant with her husband, two teenagers, a Labrador, and a Chihuahua who is the boss of them all. Abigail enjoys gardening and attempts to be, but not always successfully, a good plant parent.
