Biography

Cara Cerullo, EdD, LISW, is a clinical associate professor and MSW practicum administrator in the University of Iowa School of Social Work. She is a licensed independent social worker with more than 20 years of experience in outpatient addiction services, inpatient and outpatient mental health services, and higher education. For the past 18 years, her work has focused on college mental health and alcohol and other drug services, including leadership roles in higher education. Her areas of professional focus include suicide prevention, crisis postvention in higher education and organizational approaches to addressing and preventing clinician burnout. As MSW practicum administrator, Cerullo supports students in developing the professional skills needed for social work practice and helps advance practicum training opportunities. She is also interested in expanding the mental health workforce and supporting initiatives that serve underserved populations.
