Haelim Jeong, PhD, LICSW
Dr. Jeong’s work focuses on suicide prevention, with a particular emphasis on suicidal ambivalence—the co-occurring desire to live and to die—among suicide attempt survivors. Her research seeks to advance conceptual understanding of suicidal ambivalence as a psychological construct and to inform the development of interventions that address the complex recovery processes following a suicide attempt. She employs qualitative and mixed-methods approaches to examine how survivors make meaning of their experiences, navigate help-seeking, and reconstruct a sense of self and connection. Her broader interests include ethical and trauma-informed research practices in suicide prevention. She is also a licensed clinical social worker with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
