Kendra Rooney has worked in the social services field for several years in a variety of different capacities, from behavioral health to community organizing. After receiving her MSW, she worked at Dakota Wesleyan University as the Prevention Education and Training Coordinator, doing sexual and domestic violence prevention and intervention on campus; as the Sexual Violence Outreach and Prevention Coordinator for the South Dakota Department of Health; and the Suicide Prevention and Outreach Coordinator for the Helpline Center, a non-profit based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. 

Kendra's research interests revolve around the multifaceted aspects of sexual violence prevention, healthy sexuality, and the experiences of LGBTQ+ populations.
