The Sioux City MSW program is a three-year, part-time program designed for working professionals in the Siouxland region that delivers the quality you can expect from Iowa’s flagship university at an exceptional value.
Administered by the University of Iowa’s School of Social Work, the Sioux City MSW program is conveniently located on the beautiful campus of Briar Cliff University and is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Students register for an average of two courses each semester, including summers, and complete the degree in three years.
Students from diverse academic and experiential backgrounds are valued and actively recruited by the program. Previous experiences in human services and cross-cultural perspectives are desirable.
Courses for regular-standing students (those who have completed a degree in a discipline other than a CSWE-accredited social work degree program) will begin in Summer 2026.
Coursework for Advanced Standing students (those who have completed the BA in Social Work or BSW from a CSWE-accredited social work degree program) will begin in Summer 2027.
