Carrie is interested in conducting research in caregiving, withplans to focus on caregivers of children, adolescents, and younger adults who have complex medical issues. Carrie is an advocate for experiential learning opportunities.

Tomeka earned her B.A. in Psychology from UMASS/Boston and her M.S.W. from Simmons College School of Social Work, and she is a Licensed Independent Social Worker. She provides support to promote and help prepare prospective students for the BA and MSW programs; provides administrative support for planning and delivery of the school’s programs, for student retention and success and alumni services. 

Before returning to school to earn her M.S.W., Megan Ronnenberg worked in a number of social work-related positions, including field organizing for political campaigns, volunteer coordinating for non-profits, and teaching in a daycare center. As an early childhood educator, she saw firsthand how caregivers and teachers can impact child development. She would like to contribute research to the early childhood field to help agencies and caregivers be more aware and responsive to the needs and barriers faced by marginalized children and families.

Kendra Rooney has worked in the social services field for several years in a variety of different capacities, from behavioral health to community organizing.

Dr. Sara Sanders is the Dean of the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and formerly served as Director of the School of Social Work. Her research interests pertain to gerontology and end-of-life.
